Who we are

Cortex Ensemble is a collective of diverse musicians from across the globe, founded by composer Arthur Brouns. Equally at home in the studio and on stage, the ensemble works across recording sessions, immersive installations, film soundtracks, and contemporary concert programs. Their versatility and collaborative spirit have led to projects for the BBC, commercial work with brands like Jaguar, and the recording of the original score for the Sundance-winning film Trokas Duras.

Cortex Ensemble brings together performers from a wide range of musical and cultural backgrounds, creating works that blur the lines between orchestral, electronic, and cinematic music. Recent collaborations include artists such as Gwenno Morgan, Jordan Lee, Loverman and Dushime, with performances and recordings that explore the intersection of composition, improvisation, and technology.
